ODLWEB is a family owned and operated business based at Morphett Vale, South Australia. Each member of the family combine their expertise to make the business work as a whole. For example David manages the company and specialises in the Internet and Web Design. Patricia is a Bookkeeper and Office Administrator. Kirstie assists with graphics and animation.
As you see the whole family gets involved and we can all contribute to your web project.
ODLWEB started in 1993 as a stand alone service provider running a BBS (Bulletin Board Service). This is where people could log on and download various computer programs like games, drivers and more. BBS' were popular before the rise of the Internet. For those interested or who remember, the BBS was called GROUND ZERO.
Over the years various changes were made with the system leaning more and more towards the Internet. By the late 90's the change over was complete. The BBS was finally shut down in 1999.
We joined Apana (Australian Public Access Network Association) and run fixed modem links for about two years. Eventually, David picked up several jobs at the APANA hub like newsmaster and eventually hubmaster. This involved looking after various aspects of the hub operation.
ODLWEB is now a totally independent provider. We have our own links and run web, mail and name servers. We have expanded over the years with UPS (uninteruptable power supplies) and now have a generator to keep the whole system running reliably in the event of power failure.
The system is now quite ellaborate and can cater for almost any web design demands. Storage space is quite substantial allowing for large sites. We have various web design software packages at our disposal along with graphics and animation software like Flash.
ODLWEB and our expertise are there for you to utilise should you use our services.
